Learning Pool, today announced that it has been accredited with ISO 27001:2009 Information Security Management.

Following eight months of detailed operational analysis and review Learning Pool joined a select group of companies when it was awarded accreditation for its operations by world renowned certification body SGS. Technology and the risks to information are at the heart of the challenges companies face nowadays.

Learning Pool’s Project Manager Sean Ward explained, “This ISO 27001 certification is one of the most widely recognised independent global standards for information security. All of Learning Pool’s business systems, technologies and processes have been examined to make sure they are compliant to the highest security and management standards”.

Security standards and compliance are a high priority for Learning Pool. Their 300 customers need to know that their data is safe and secure – especially with a large proportion of their learners working with confidential public sector information on a daily basis.

Doing business with Learning Pool means that their customers can be assured of standardised security levels and practices which have been independently verified by a third-party auditor.

Auditor Hugh Sweeney from IMS Ltd said, “ Learning Pool has put a lot of time and effort into making sure that their Information Security Management System not only complied with ISO 27001 requirements but went further and made it an integral part of how they do business”.

Information security management has given Learning Pool the freedom to grow, innovate and broaden their customer-base in the knowledge that all confidential information will remain that way.
