Chance to Take Part in Clipper Trade Missions to N. America

Derry City Council are looking for companies with an interest in doing business in N. America to take part in a number of trade missions surrounding Derry’s participation in the Clipper ‘Round the World Yacht Race. Derry~Londonderry’s participation in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race provides an unrivalled opportunity to raise the international profile of the city in 2012. Your have the opportunity to use our city’s increased international visibility to boost your business’s export profile.

Clipper has an exceptional international profile reaching 550 million people in 175 countries with a PR value of $265 million. The race involves 10 City Sponsored boats racing 40,000 miles over 330 days of sailing with stopovers in 14 ports. On each stopover there is a week of opportunity to host trade missions, business meetings, contacts between politicians/dignitaries and position and sell the sponsor cities. In conjunction with Invest NI and other partners, Derry City Council is proposing a focus on supporting trading opportunities around the forthcoming North American market stopovers. These include;

San Francisco – 10^th to 12^th April

New York – 3^rd to 5^th June

Halifax, Nova Scotia – 12^th to 15^th June
